Price on Application with Ubercart 3 and Views

Price on Application with Ubercart 3 and Views

04/05/2013
A few weeks back I needed to create an ability for certain products in Ubercart to be available for 'price on application', there were a few modules floating around that pertained to do this, but none seemed to work in Drupal 7, so I racked my brain on how to accomplish this as simply as possible and came up with something quite tidy... I created a field on the product content type where content editors could enter the text to be displayed instead of a price, in my case, called 'field_price_on_ap...

DrupalGov and Canberra 2013

An event that can be as specific as an event for the use of Drupal within government demonstrates a growing interest in Drupal (and maybe openness generally) within government and its great that such an event can attract nearly 150 people. Myself, Martin Schwall and Chris Dubrow ran our own session on using CRMs within government which went pretty smoothly and well, <a href="https://www.slideshare.net/chrischinchilla/extend-drupal-with-a-crm-drupalgov-2013" target="_blank">you can see slides he...
Drupal for Education and elearning, book review

Drupal for Education and elearning, book review

**Drupal for Education and elearning by James G Robertson and Bill Fitzgerald** One of the commonalities with packt's Drupal titles is that whilst covering a variety of themes, they often include a lot of basic material that is included in all titles. This makes the titles great for those looking to cover a particular theme or topic from start to finish, but for those looking for more depth (or reviewing titles) you will spend some time reading through familiar territory such as installing, modules...

<b>Drupal 8 won't kill your kittens - Lee Rowland</b><br />There have been a lot of discussions around changes in the Drupal core team and that many old names are leaving for a variety of reasons, however there have been many new people coming on board and any community should be able to move on from it's originators. I'm currently going through the same process myself right now with Green Renters and it can be a difficult but worthwhile process. This was a  great oversight of what is new in D8,...
Goodbye Drupal, Hello Jekyll

Goodbye Drupal, Hello Jekyll

Sorry for the lack of updates in a while. There have been two main reasons for this, other commitments kept me busy and I've been reworking a lot of the technology stack that powers Chip Shop. I'd like to tell you more about updates to the later. I have been a [Drupal](https://drupal.org) developer for many years. I have contributed to core, to documentation, run meetups and code sprints and developed almost exclusively in Drupal for over seven years. Therefore when it came to developing web applications for my own...
Joomla to Drupal import

Joomla to Drupal import

I generally find that in the process of migrating a website to a new system or framework, importing and moving data is the most fraught, frustrating and troublesome part of the process. If you're moving content from a vanilla installation to another vanilla installation you might be in luck, but really, what are the chances of that? I long ago decided to merge a joomla 1.5 site I have into a new site I was setting up in drupal 7, the content that needed to come across was:<ul><li><a href="https...
